Critics' Choice Movie Awards Give Love To 'Avatar' And John Hughes

Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep tie for Best Actress, while 'Inglourious Basterds' nabs three trophies.

Awards season 2010 marched on Friday night (January 15), as the 15th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards trophies were handed out in a star-studded ceremony. Whether the Oscar picture became clearer is anyone's guess, but this much is obvious: Critics apparently love bomb-squad dramas, blue aliens and Nazi killers.

Paul McCartney, Matt Damon, Sandra Bullock, Julianne Moore and dozens of other top celebs were at the show, hosted by veteran Hollywood/Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth — who at one point gestured to her low-cut dress and asked Quentin Tarantino if he had seen her inglourious basterds. It was only one of many memorable moments that took place at the show, involving such diverse folks as Kevin Bacon, Death Cab for Cutie and Sarah Silverman.

Wearing a tuxedo and black-and-white Chuck Taylors, he played his band's debut single, "Who I Am," off the band's February release of the same name, high above the red carpet. The 17-year-old and his band then performed during the show as movies like "Avatar," "Up in the Air," and "Inglourious Basterds" won awards.

Playing a set of 11 covers going to and coming from commercial breaks, the playlist included covers of the Cars' "Just What I Needed," "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours" by Stevie Wonder, "Abracadabra" by the Steve Miller Band, "Makes Me Wonder" by Maroon 5 and "I Just Want to Celebrate" by Rare Earth.

Barcelona Coach Pep Guardiola Admits To Selection Errors Against Sevilla

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola admitted he made mistakes in selection after his side were beaten 2-1 by Sevilla at Camp Nou in the first leg of their Copa del Rey fifth round encounter.

Pedro Rodríguez: No, because it's so difficult to get a look-in with the fantastic players we have. To play even a few minutes here is an absolute privilege and you have to take advantage of every single moment on the field. Things have happened so quickly for me, but I'm taking it all in my stride. I've had the opportunity to live through beautiful and unforgettable moments with Barça, but I know I must keep working hard to continue getting chances in the first team.
